New to this? Tools like this are called text expanders: you save text you use often, give it a short nickname, and typing the nickname pastes in the full text for you.

Illustration with sample names and text.

Sound familiar?

You type the same things all day

It only takes a minute each time. But those minutes add up, and the work is tedious.

The same replies, over and over

“Thanks for reaching out…”, “Just following up…”, “Here’s how to reset your password…”. You’ve typed them hundreds of times.

Digging through a notes doc

Open the doc, find the right template, copy, switch tabs, paste, fix the formatting. Every single time.

Typos in text you know by heart

Fast typing means a wrong digit in a phone number or a broken link sent to a client.

Addresses, links and sign-offs

Your office address, Zoom link, booking page and email signature, typed out again and again.

The math

Small minutes add up to whole workweeks

Say you send 10 repeated messages a day and each takes about a minute to type or copy-paste. Over a year of workdays (5 a week), that’s about 43 hours, more than a full workweek, spent retyping things you’ve already written.

With SnipKeep each of those becomes a few keystrokes.

This is an example estimate to show the idea, not a measured result. Your savings depend on how you work.

Try your own numbers

43 hours a year 10 × 1 min × 5 days × 52 weeks ≈ 2,600 minutes

Example estimate only. Assumes each repeated message is replaced by a shortcut.

Ridiculously easy

Set it up in a minute. Use it forever.

If you can type, you can use SnipKeep. No setup wizard, no account, nothing to learn.

  1. Save your text once

Paste in a reply, address or link and give it a short nickname, like ;addr. Starting with ; keeps it from triggering by accident.

  2. Type the nickname anywhere

In Gmail, Outlook on the web, your help desk, LinkedIn, a CRM, or a web form.

  3. Watch it turn into the full text

SnipKeep swaps the nickname for your saved text instantly, right where you’re typing.

  • ;thanks → Thanks so much for reaching out! I’ll get back to you within one business day. Best, Sam
  • ;addr → Maria Lopez, 123 Main St, Suite 4, Springfield, IL 62701, (555) 555-0123
  • ;zoom → Here’s the link for our call: https://zoom.us/j/0000000000 Talk soon, Jordan

Why SnipKeep

Private, simple, and yours to keep

Private by design

No account and no cloud. Your snippets stay in Chrome’s storage on your own computer and are never sent to us.

Pay once, not every month

Many text expanders charge a monthly subscription. SnipKeep Pro is $29, one time, for life.

Switch in minutes

Already use Text Blaze or Magical? Import your snippets from a CSV file.

Skips sensitive fields

SnipKeep never expands in password or payment card fields.

Works on most sites

Email, chat, help desks, CRMs and web forms: almost any text box in Chrome.

Google Docs, too

Short plain-text snippets (up to 100 characters) expand in Docs. For anything longer, Alt+Shift+S copies it so you can paste.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What exactly is a text expander?

A small tool that saves text you use often under a short nickname. Type the nickname (like ;sig) and it’s replaced with the full text (like your whole email signature).

Where are my snippets stored? Can you see them?

Only on your computer, in Chrome’s extension storage. There’s no account or cloud sync, so we never see them. The only network request SnipKeep makes is to check a Pro license key with Lemon Squeezy. See the privacy policy.

Does it work in Google Docs?

Partly. Plain-text snippets up to 100 characters expand in Docs. For longer ones, press Alt+Shift+S to copy the snippet, then paste.

Will it expand in password or credit card fields?

No. SnipKeep skips password and payment card fields.

What happens if I switch computers?

Snippets live only on your device, so they don’t move automatically. Pro includes export: save your snippets to a file and import them on the new computer.

Can I bring my snippets from Text Blaze or Magical?

Yes. Export a CSV from either one and import it into SnipKeep.

What about refunds or purchase problems?

Email [email protected] and we’ll help.

When can I install it?

Soon. SnipKeep is coming to the Chrome Web Store, and this page will link to it as soon as it’s live.

Write it once. Never retype it again.

Free for your first 25 snippets. Pro is $29 once, for life.
